Since 1953, the name Royal Tara has been synonymous with beautiful fine bone china table and gift ware. Royal Tara's philosophy has always been to offer the highest quality goods which we continue to develop and improve to keep them at the forefront of the public's imagination.
In 2003 Islandcraft was established as a new brand in order to broaden our offering of Celtic gifts with a strong handcrafted emphasis. This brought us ranges of hand carved wood, hand embroidered textiles, and cold cast works all inspired by the Celtic tradition. We have also developed gifts for our Celtic neighbours in Wales.
The story of the Welsh Dragon originates in the defeat of the Anglo Saxons by Vortigern at Dinas Emrys, and was chosen as the official symbol of Wales about 600 years ago. Another symbol of Wales (and inspiration for Islandcraft giftware) is the Daffodil, or St Peter's Leek. The Leek has been used to identify Welsh military units since the 7th century. On our stand you can find out about our gift collections inspired by the patterns & colours of our rich Celtic heritage.
