Traditional Welsh Lovespoons, Welsh Celtic Slate Plaques, and Celtic Wooden Plaques, all hand crafted in Wales

Member of the Welsh Craft Council

Royal Lovespoon This lnk tells the story of Les William's start in Glan Conwy sweeping the workshop floor of Pageant Wood Craft, his unauthorsed attempt at carving, which lead to his promotion, and eventually to taking over the company and moving to Llanrwst. Almost in passing it mentions the commission to carve a Lovespoon for Prince Charles, and various heroes of sport and entertainment, and a key contract from Cadw to supply spoons to all of its gift shops.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle given traditional Welsh lovespoon on visit to Cardiff Castle. And I think that we should congratulate young Harry and Megan who made the presentation too!
"Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle were given a taste of Welsh culture, today (18 January 2018), during an official visit to Cardiff Castle.
"...., they were presented with a traditional Welsh lovespoon — a gift from the Welsh Government’s historic environment service (Cadw) and Visit Wales. The gift was presented to the couple by Harry (6) and Megan (9) from Marlborough Primary School in Cardiff.
"The unique gift, hand-crafted for the Royal couple, features their initials alongside a Celtic knot, horseshoe and barley twist — said to symbolise eternal love, good luck, and togetherness.
"Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Lord Elis-Thomas, said: “Our traditional lovespoon is given as a symbol of friendship, caring and good luck, and I’m delighted that Cadw has been able to offer the couple this piece of Welsh craftsmanship as a very fitting gesture from us on their first visit to Wales following their engagement.”
"The bespoke lovespoon was designed and created for the royal couple by master craftsman Les Williams of Pageant Wood Crafts, Llanrwst."
